Dear Visitor,

My name is Kathy Rodriguez.  I am a pitching coach and personal softball/fitness trainer.   I have been involved with softball from an early age.  My first exposure to the game was while watching my aunts travel and play softball throughout Texas.  I knew immediately that I would eventually follow in their footsteps. 

I began playing when I was 7 years old.  I started taking pitching lessons soon after from a pitching coach, Robert Andaya, in Pearland, Texas.  I continued to receive instruction from Robert for 13 years.  Under his instruction, I learned to throw many pitches. 

Upon graduating from college with a B.S. in Sports Management from NYU in 2005, I returned to my home town, Galveston, Texas.  I immediately started training clients in fitness and softball.  I also continued to study pitching mechanics at the graduate level.  Additionally, I have multiple exercise certifications. 

Since originally studying under Robert, I have expanded my pitching knowledge.  I am familiar with multiple styles and methods for pitching the fastball, changeup, rise, drop, curve, knuckle and screw ball.  In addition, my formal education has helped me develop my philosophy and teaching style.  I continue to create new drills and methods for teaching the mechanics of the windmill. 

I am truly passionate about the sport of softball and look forward to working with the most promising athletes in this sport.  Best of luck to those aspiring pitchers out there.  It is a long and hard journey but it can be very rewarding.  The character that you build as a pitcher will not only carry over on to the field but throughout the rest of your life.  The journey starts here...
